Indoor and Outdoor Range Rules and Regulations Indoor Range 

I. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. 

II. Always keep your finger off of the trigger until ready to shoot. 

III. Always keep the gun unloaded until on the firing line. 

IV. Hearing and eye protection is required for everyone in the firing range. 

V. Shoot straight downrange only. No cross firing at targets. 

VI. Shoot at paper or cardboard targets only. No exceptions. 

VII. Clean up after yourself. Pick up brass, targets, cartridge boxes and other waste before you leave the range. A. Turn out the lights before you leave the range and waiting room.

   B. If you turn on the heat, turn off the heaters before you leave the range. 

   C. Turn off exhaust fans before leaving the range, if applicable. 

X. Call "Cease firing" and make safe all firearms before a shooter moves forward of the firing line or during any unsafe condition. 

XI. Before anyone goes downrange, all firearms shall be unloaded and placed at rest; rifles shall be placed in the rifle racks with actions open. Pistols shall be laid on the tables with actions open. Red flags are permitted in semi-automatic pistols and rifles. No firearms shall be handled in any way whenever anyone is down range. Red revolving safety light is turned on. 

XII. When the red flashing light is on, all guns are to be unloaded and chamber flags installed. XIII. No firearms shall be carried downrange in front of shooting benches. 

XIV. Fire only authorized firearms and ammunition. 

XV. Indoor Range is limited to paper or cardboard targets. 

XVI. Firearms are to remain cased and shall not be handled until the shooter has entered the firing range and standing at the shooting bench. 

XVII. No shotshells shall be fired in the firing range, except for club sanctioned events. XVIII. Only straight wall pistol cartridges are permitted to be shot from handguns. 

XIX. No handgun calibers larger than .45 Colt 

XX. Only .22 long, short, or long rifle cartridges may be shot from rifles. No other rimfire cartridges permitted. No 22 magnum cartridges from rifles. 

XXI. No centerfire rifle cartridges are permitted in handguns. 

XXII. No solid core bullets, commonly referred to as Dangerous Game, are allowed. Examples, but not limited to, Hornady DGS, & DGX series bullets. 

XXIII. Maximum velocity of all ammunition shall not exceed 1400 feet per second. 

XXIV. Do not move in front of the firing line or shooting benches to shoot. 

XXV. Violation of rules may lead to removal from the club, membership terminated, and legal proceedings. XXVI. Report any unsafe conduct, safety issues, or maintenance issues to a Board member. XXVII. Full-automatic firearms are NOT authorized and strictly prohibited. 

XXVIII. Use common sense. 

Outdoor Range 

I. Outdoor range is open dawn until dusk. 

II. Invited guests of members are permitted to use outdoor range provided the authorized person is present and assumes full responsibility for the conduct of his or her guests. 

III. Outdoor range is closed during all Ohio deer gun seasons. 

IV. No hunting on outdoor range. 

V. Rifles smaller than .50 caliber centerfire; pistols and shotguns any caliber or gauge. (No tracer or armor-piercing ammunition.)

VI. No solid core bullets, commonly referred to as Dangerous Game, are allowed. Examples, but not limited to, Hornady DGS, & DGX series bullets. 

VII. Full-automatic firearms are NOT authorized and strictly prohibited. 

VIII. Fire only authorized firearms and ammunition. 

IX. Ensure all projectiles impact within the established range safety limits. 

X. Call "Cease firing" and make safe all firearms before a shooter moves forward of the firing line or during any unsafe condition. 

XI. Hearing and eye protection is required for everyone in the firing range. 

XII. If available, notify the RSO or Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) of any safety infractions. XIII. Police all brass, paper, and other debris that accumulate on the range. Dispose of them in the containers provided. 

Shooting Club Members: 

I. All shooters must check in 

II. All shooters and spectators must fill out "hold harmless" agreements. 

III. Shooters will conduct themselves in an orderly manner at all times and will be responsible for the conduct of any guests they bring. 

IV. All shooters are responsible for their guns and ammunition. 

V. Firearms that are out of the case and not being fired must be benched. (Actions open and facing up, chambers empty, muzzles pointing downrange, and safeties on.) 

VI. Do not point firearms at anything other than authorized targets. 

VII. Fire only at your own target. No cross firing. 

VIII. Give the command "Cease firing" if an unsafe condition exists. 

IX. No pets are allowed in or on either range. 

X. Alcoholic Beverages and Drugs. Shooters may not consume alcoholic beverages or drugs XI. Medical Support. In the event of a medical emergency, call 911. 

XII. Hold Harmless Agreement Form/Liability Waiver will be completed annually. 

XIII. Children are to be supervised and under the control of an adult at all times. 

XIV. Each member passing through the door must enter their own personal code to the lock. A. No piggybacking through the door. 

XV. Indoor range fees of $5.00 per member are to be placed in the filled out envelope and deposited in the door slot for the indoor range. 

   A. Print legibly: your name, date, and amount in an envelope. 

XVI. Clean up after yourself. 

XVII. Before you leave the range and waiting room: 

   A. Turn out the lights. 

   B. If you turn on the heat, turn off the heaters before you leave the range. 

   C. Turn off exhaust fans before leaving the range, if applicable. 

XVIII. Waiver of Liability must be filled out to the range regardless of shooting or a spectator. XIX. Horseplay or any unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and will result in dismissal from the club, and possible criminal prosecution. 

XX. Failure to do any of the above may result in removal from the club and possible criminal prosecution.
